Privacy Policy

Tradition Ventures (“Tradition Ventures”, “we”, “us”) builds systematic trading technology. This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with traditionventures.com (the “site”) — what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

The site is an informational publication. There are no accounts to create, no forms to submit, and nothing to buy. The only way to reach us from here is email, so in practice the only personal information most visitors ever give us is the message they choose to send.

We apply the same standard here that we apply to our systems: collect only what the job requires, be able to explain every decision, and default to the more conservative option when the answer isn’t obvious. Nothing in this policy modifies the risk disclosure in the site footer.

• We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not run advertising.
• No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking scripts run on this site today.
• The only cookies and local storage in use record your cookie decision and the accessibility settings you choose.
• Fonts and images are served from our own domain. Loading a page does not call out to Google, a CDN font service, or a social network.
• If you email us, we use your message to reply to you — not to add you to a list.

Information you send us

When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever is in your message. Please don’t send sensitive personal information, account credentials, or confidential material you aren’t authorised to share.

Information collected automatically

Like any website, this one is served over the internet, and our hosting provider records technical request data in order to deliver pages and defend against abuse. That typically includes your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. These records exist for security, reliability, and traffic management. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them.

Information stored on your device

Two small records are kept locally in your browser: your cookie decision and any accessibility settings you turn on. Both stay on your device. Neither is transmitted to us, and neither contains anything that identifies you.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, passwords, or payment information — the site has none of these.
• No advertising identifiers, cross-site tracking, fingerprinting, or session replay.
• No special-category data (health, biometrics, political or religious views), and no precise geolocation.
• No information from children. The site is intended for a professional audience.

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser; local storage does much the same thing. We group ours into three categories. Only the first is active today, and the other two remain switched off unless you turn them on.

Your decision is recorded for six months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time — from the footer of any page, or right here:

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and clearing site data will remove both records described above. If you do that, the site will ask for your cookie decision again and your accessibility settings will return to their defaults.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Because we run no analytics or advertising and do not sell or share personal information, a GPC signal changes nothing in practice — non-essential storage is already off by default. There is still no common standard for Do Not Track headers, so we do not respond to them separately.

• To reply to you — Answering enquiries and continuing conversations you start with us.
• To operate the site — Serving pages, keeping them available, and remembering the settings you choose.
• To keep the site secure — Detecting, investigating, and preventing abuse, fraud, and technical attacks.
• To meet legal obligations — Retaining records where law or regulation requires it, and responding to lawful requests.
• To improve what we publish — Only if you consent to analytics. Today no analytics service is in use.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

• Legitimate interests — Operating and securing the site, and responding to enquiries you send us. We have considered your rights and interests and believe these uses are ones you would expect.
• Consent — Any non-essential cookies or storage. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
• Legal obligation — Retaining records or responding to requests where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not trade it, rent it, or hand it to data brokers. Information is disclosed only in these situations:

• Service providers — Vendors that operate parts of our infrastructure under contract and may only process information on our instructions — principally our hosting and content-delivery provider (Vercel Inc.), our email provider, and Design Develop Now, which develops and maintains this site.
• Professional advisers — Lawyers, accountants, and auditors bound by duties of confidentiality, where their work requires it.
• Legal and safety requirements — Where we are required to disclose by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of our systems.
• Corporate transactions — If the business is ever reorganised, acquired, or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We operate from the United States, and our service providers process information there. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in a country whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own. Where transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland require a safeguard, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved mechanism through our providers’ data processing terms.

• Email correspondence — Kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any relationship that follows, and then deleted, unless we are required to retain it.
• Server and security logs — Kept by our hosting provider for a short, rolling period and then discarded or aggregated.
• Cookie decision — Six months, after which the banner appears again.
• Accessibility settings — Stored on your device until you reset them or clear your browser data.

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. It is published as static content, which substantially reduces its attack surface: there is no visitor database, no login system, and no user-submitted content stored on our servers. Access to our email and infrastructure is restricted and protected by multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we can commit to collecting as little as possible in the first place, which is the most reliable control available.

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honour them regardless of whether local law compels us to.

• Access — Ask what personal information we hold about you and obtain a copy.
• Correction — Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Deletion — Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
• Portability — Receive information you provided in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Objection and restriction — Object to, or ask us to limit, processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent — Change your cookie decision at any time, without affecting what came before.
• Opt out of sale or sharing — Available under California and similar state laws. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
• Non-discrimination — We will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise a right, email info@traditionventures.com. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm who you are before we act, and we will respond within the time your law allows — 30 days under the GDPR and 45 days under California law, unless an extension is permitted. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authority. If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have handled your information improperly, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority; we would appreciate the chance to address it first.

This site is intended for professional and institutional audiences. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact info@traditionventures.com and we will delete it.

The site links to a small number of external pages, such as our technology partner’s website. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s site, subject to their privacy practices and not ours. We suggest reading their policy before sharing anything with them.

Tradition Ventures is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is the standard commonly used to measure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508.

What that means in practice on this site:

• Semantic headings, landmarks, and labelled controls, so screen readers can navigate the structure of each page.
• Full keyboard operability, a visible focus indicator on every interactive element, and a skip link to the main content.
• Text and interface colours tested against WCAG contrast minimums.
• Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
• Respect for your operating system’s reduced-motion preference, plus an in-page control to override it.
• An accessibility widget — the button in the lower-right corner of every page — offering larger text, high contrast, a high-legibility typeface, underlined links, wider text spacing, and reduced motion. Your choices are stored on your device only.

Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a finished state, and automated checks do not catch everything. If you encounter a barrier anywhere on this site, or you need information in a different format, email info@traditionventures.com with the page address and a short description of the problem. We treat accessibility reports as defects and will respond within five business days.

We will update this policy when our practices change or the law requires it. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will make that clear on the site, and where a change affects the basis on which you gave consent, we will ask for it again.
